This past weekend a lovely photographer reached out for some help. She has MS and for those of you who are unfamiliar MS has a variety of symptoms and can greatly affect cognitive skills and memory. All through the difficulties of MS this photographer has been working her butt off to start a successful business. Because of some of the cognitive issues MS creates she sometimes has difficulty formulating wording for sales or for her bio and I know this is something many people struggle with. She reached out to me and asked me if I had any products in the Shop that would help her do this.

I don’t have any products in the shop to do this and I feel that rather than take her request and create something to sell I’m going to blog it and allow anyone else to use these tools or templates for their use too. It’s about photographers helping other photographers. I just really admire how this lady is still going after her photography dreams despite the struggles. I think it’s awesome and that well…to put it bluntly – it takes balls.

So here you go lady, you know who you are. Keep on pushing through the rough days and it will pay off. Much love!

1. What is a biography? – A biography is the written account of the series of events that make up a person’s life.

2. Basic Details Include: Your name, experience with photography, references to your accomplishments, and your family.

3. So how do you make that sound exciting and different than every other bio? Brainstorm things that make you unique. Instead of thinking of accomplishments as awards won for your photography think of it in terms of fun. What were some silly titles you may have won as a child? Prom Queen? Best lemonade stand operator? Highest seller of girl scout cookies in Troop 203? You want to come up with things about you that are fun, unique, and will be remembered by those who come and read your bio.

4. What are some of your strengths that are unrelated to photography? Don’t be cheesy. Make a list of things you are really good at that sound fun and light. Card making, getting a great Chaco sandal tan, playing the guitar, anything!

5. What are some of your weaknesses? Don’t get too deep, but seeing that you’re not perfect is a very human trait and will make readers of your bio feel like they can relate to you. Saying you are terrible at math, put the toilet paper roll on the wrong way and mentioning photography by saying you accidentally take photos of your own feet is funny and catchy.

6. Come up with a few fun facts about yourself that aren’t related to photography. Do you have a birthmark in your armpit? Can you speak Norwegian? Are you allergic to bubble gum? List some things that are fun that no one would know about you otherwise. These facts will be memorable and make for great conversation later when clients book you at the pre-consultation meeting or even at the photoshoot.

7. Connect the dots. Here’s a sample bio you can use the template of. This is just a quick short tidbit to show you how to use these facts you have gathered about yourself.

Carrie’s photography has been recognized in many venues, but the most important accolades she’s recieved are Best Girlscout Cookie Seller of Troop 203 and Prom Queen. Outside of the photography business Carrie can be found attending card making club, doing guitar lessons, getting a great Chaco sandal tan when hiking, making frequent stops at Yogurtland, and best of all taking obscene amounts of photos of her three dogs, affectionately referred to as “the babies.”

When Carrie is not creating photos for her amazing clients of weddings, births, newborns, families and more she can usually be found putting the toilet paper roll on the wrong way, taking accidental photos of her own feet, not sharing any of the pizza leftovers, and baking apple pie. She of course loves the usual things – photography, people, going to the movies, reading, and Disney princesses like most of the world.

8. Bios don’t have to be short or long. They can be however long you need them to be.

9. The goal of a website bio is to make a memorable impression and connect with your readers on a level that’s unique from others.

10. Outside of this unique way of writing a bio you can write a very traditional bio that discusses your photography accomplishments, your passion for photography, your family, how you started doing photography, your experience, and anything else you’d like to include.

They are not only religions,The Muslims and Hindus have been living in this sub continent for twelve hundred years but still they cannot be called one nation. They do not intermarry , and do not take meal at the same table.They have different histories, different heroes, different literatures and different cultures. Even the British Goverment has not been able to mould them into a single nation. If we unite these two nations, we are sure to bring destruction to both of them.
